The Cross-Cylinder Tester (XCT) is the innovative combination of the proven Reichert friction wear scale and the Brugger tester. It enables detailed analyses of friction partners subject to continuous sliding friction in solid, boundary and mixed friction. Whether proven standard tests or special requirements, the modular test setup can be adapted as required and, together with the intuitive user interface, enables customised tests for your needs.
Flexible XCT Test System for Normal Force Control and a Wide Range of Applications
XCT normal force is applied using calibrated weights via a lever system; the sliding speed can be adjusted dynamically. The XCT software has standard programs for Reichert and Brugger testing as well as a manual mode that allows free parameterisation. The XCT has already been used successfully for the development of cooling lubricants and oil additive packages as well as for the development of plastics and bonded coatings.
